Our submissions are judged by a jury of international industry professionals. They rate each submission on 10 different categoriess.

The best film of 2023 will receive $1,000 sponsored by the Rome Film Institute!

Who We Are?

The Rome Film Awards is a group of independent filmmakers and industry professionals that aims to build an international creative community in which we celebrate and recognize their achievements.

Since our inception in 2017, we have received entries from more than 120 countries. We aspire to promote, recognise and support independent filmmakers around the world through various awards, giving filmmakers the best opportunities and helping them get the recognition they deserve. We welcome submissions from all genres, including short films, documentaries, feature films, animations and screenplays.

Fred is a well known actor, acting since 1973. He is best known as Opa Fonkel (Grandpa Fonkel, Mega Mindy) to the youngest viewers, but he also starred in “Het Eiland” (The Island), “W817”, “De Kabouterschat” (The Leprechaun Treasure),

Fred Van Kuyk

In 2001, he came to Belgium, and in 2008 he got his Master’s degree in filmmaking at Sint-Lukas Film School, Brussels. With his short film Nan, Kalifa won the Best Flemish Student Film at the Leuven International Short Film Festival.

Born in Reet, Belgium. Erik finished his degree cum laude at the Filmschool HIBK St. Lukas in Brussels. He now works as editor, screenwriter and director, known for, To Speak (1999), SM-rechter (2009) and Nicolas (2000).

The general public knows her role in the full-length film Zaak De Zutter (2016), in which she plays the leading role of Julienne De Zutter.For two she also played doctor Charlotte Vandamme in the VTM-serie Echte Verhalen: De Kliniek.
